ILP #2

For this ILP project, I decided to create an infographic with the website canvas.com. This website was super easy to use and had lots of great tool to create an amazing poster. The purpose of my poster is to inform people about how they can be more eco-friendly and earth conscious. I also provided a link to a great website that has even more tips for being eco-friendly.

This tutorial was completed on Sunday, October 22nd. This video is “Introduction to Songwriting” which is a short video guide to the basics of songwriting. The author of this video, Cliff Goldmacher, also introduces not only the fundamental skills that are needed when writing a song but also the business aspects that come along when wanting to publish and copyright a song. He also talks about the types of jobs that you can have as a songwriter, either writing for record labels, being your own singer/songwriter, or picking out different songs for TV shows and movies. This information was displayed through a video of a PowerPoint-like presentation with audio of Goldmacher explaining the information and going into further detail. The ELA technology standards that I would feel most prepared to teach are “Multimedia:” Literature and Informational Text. I think I would need to be better acquainted with the subjects of history/social science as well as science/technical subjects to teach them well. I would also be comfortable with “Text Structure:” Informational Text, “Use Multiple Sources,” “Evaluate Speaker’s Point of View,” “Vocabulary: Use Context Clues,” “Write to explain/inform,” “Use Technology,” and “Use Digital Media.” The standards seem quite simple and easy to integrate into my classroom because I feel like I have done almost all of them at some point in my educational career. However, it wouldn’t hurt to brush up on all of them to feel more comfortable in the subject areas. On the school page that I visited from my high school, William T. Dwyer high school, there is no access to teacher/class pages. These types of pages are only visible if you are a student and if you’re logged into your account. The public cannot view the individual class pages. But on the school’s website there is access to a school calendar and school news/important events. There is also information about the school, the district, the guidance department, and athletics. These all have links for important information or paperwork. This is simple information that does not allow outside people to have access to any important information. It may help protect students to not put too much information about the classes out for the public to see. William T.
